| Carbon Masters analysis of Performance League Table |

In November 2011, the Environment Agency published the first Carbon Reduction Commitment Performance League Table which ranks 2,103 large energy users in terms of early action steps taken to monitor their carbon emissions. Carbon Masters have prepared a report (download here) which looks at how well individual sectors performed in the League Table and what the energy and cost implications of the CRC are. | Scottish Energy and Environment Conference (SEEC)-A carbon neutral event |

For 2012, SEEC has partnered with Carbon Masters. Carbon Masters will conduct a live carbon footprint during the conference and work with our carbon credit providers, South Pole, to declare the event carbon neutral.

PLANS for a solar panel on the roof of a former church could see a Leith community become the first in Scotland to become carbon neutral. A study is being carried out at the Edinburgh Hindu Mandir and Community Centre on St Andrew Place which would see the panels placed on the building.

| Consultancy gets green light for carbon reduction plans |

A Scottish consultancy has won official approval for a new carbon reduction standard that it developed and which it claims sets the UK’s toughest standards for organisations that want to reduce emissions.
Edinburgh-based Carbon Masters won the endorsement of the Environment Agency for the standard. This requires firms and public bodies that want to obtain the highest rating to cut emissions by 3% annually, rather than 2.5% under rival schemes.The standard has been welcomed by the First Minister, Alex Salmond.
